Meet YOU at Conference 2024!

Ontario Ancestors (Ontario Genealogical Society) are very excited to announce that the 2024 Conference will be an ‘in person’ event for the first time in five years!

An Interactive Experience: Explore, Engage, Enjoy!
June 14-16, 2024

Get set to “explore, engage and enjoy” – the Ontario Genealogical Society’s Conference 2024 will kick off exactly one year from today!

The Conference 2024 team is organizing an event that really makes the most of meeting in person, with a roster of expert marquee speakers, hands-on workshops and interactive presentations of various lengths. During the Conference, there will be numerous opportunities to chat with genealogists about your specific research needs. Also planned are tours of research archives and libraries around the city; and meet and greet opportunities (both with speakers and with genie friends that you haven’t seen for 5 years!). Explore the renowned Marketplace where you will discover new software programs and technology on the genealogy market; connect with volunteers in a branch of the society – perhaps where your ancestor lived in Ontario; chat with folks about the books (including e-books), software and other resources that will help with your research.

After the Conference, why not include a research trip to the numerous archives in Toronto such as the Archives of Ontario (land records, wills and much more); the City of Toronto Archives; numerous church archives (was your ancestor a clergyman?); the Ontario Genealogical Society’s own specialized genealogy library (printed publications not found elsewhere) – this collection is held in the Toronto Reference Library and make sure you check the Toronto Public Library’s digitized collections.

Registration opens in the fall of 2023. Please note, there will be opportunities to join in virtually to some of the talks. The earlier you decide to attend, the earlier you will be able to snap up some great prices on hotel rooms and transportation. Stay tuned for updates via the Ontario Genealogical Society social media accounts, E-news and website.

Looking forward to meeting up with you in Toronto!
