A Day at the Archives of Ontario

Thursday, June 13, 2024.

SOLD OUT

Start your Conference weekend with a full day of research at the Archives of Ontario with assistance from local experts and optional tours and orientation sessions from Archives staff. Your registration fee will give you access to an exclusive password-protected web page which will help you prepare to make the most of your day and ask questions in advance.

Book a seat for convenient door-to-door return transportation leaving at 9:30 am from the Conference hotel to the Archives of Ontario, and returning at 5:00 pm and includes a tasty bagged lunch. Or make your way there on public transport for more flexibility. The Archives opens at 8:30 am and will have extended hours to 8:00 pm on June 13. (A bus stops in front of the hotel and will take you right to the Lawrence West station, where it is an easy free transfer to the subway and just a few stations north to York University and the Archives of Ontario. Cost is approximately $3.30 each way.)

You will have the opportunity to choose from:

  • Behind-the-scenes tours including the record vaults and conservation lab
  • Reading room tours
  • Lunchtime lecture
  • One-on-one Ask an Archivist sessions (limited availability)
  • Ask a conservator sessions
  • And of course, lots of research time
