Let’s hear it for the Branches and SIGs!

Did you know that the Ontario Genealogical Society has 35 Branches and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) across the province?

Each Branch focuses on a specific geographic area of Ontario (use this clickable map to locate the one closest to your area of research), while each SIG focuses on a specific heritage topic.  The Society currently has SIGs devoted to British Home Children, Eastern Europe, Genetic Genealogy, Ireland, the Irish Palatine, and Scottish research. Joining one or more Branches or SIGs is a great way to become more involved with your community of interest and benefit from local and topical expertise.

And Conference 2024 will be a perfect opportunity to make those contacts face to face! Keep an eye on the Conference schedule for special Branch and SIG activities on Friday afternoon at 4:30, just before the official opening ceremonies. Finally, be sure to look for the Branch and SIG tables in the Conference Marketplace. Browse their publications, learn about their activities, or just stop by for a chat with Branch or SIG volunteers – you just might pick up the tip you need to move your research forward.

Here’s to connecting with our Branches and SIGs in June!
