Mary Crosby, MBA is the newsletter editor for the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society’s AAHGS News, a national quarterly publication. Mary is also the founder and editor of www.DetroitGospel.com, a gospel music industry website. She is active locally as a member of the Detroit-based Fred Hart Williams Genealogical Society and the Michigan Genealogical Council Pioneer Certificate Program (a lineage organization). She is a passionate family historian, avid reader of genealogy publications, and an enthusiastic attender of conferences, institutes, classes, workshops and webinars. Other genealogy memberships include the National Genealogical Society (NGS) and Ontario Genealogical Society (OGS). After many years in automotive purchasing at Stellantis, Mary is now on staff at The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She is also currently freelancing as a local researcher for an upcoming PBS documentary on the history of gospel music hosted by Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr.
